PALLMANN OIL HISTORY
Pallmann, a German firm founded in 1900, is well known for producing “parquet lacquers” in Europe since the year 1949. “Parquet lacquer” is actually a fancy term for wood floor finish. Pallmann has been marketing this hardened oil, Pallmann Magic Oil, in Europe since the year 2005, so they actually have more experience & history than most manufacturers in this product type. Their oil is well-established & respected in the marketplace in the US & abroad.
WHY CHOOSE PALLMANN OIL OVER OTHER HARDENED OIL BRANDS?
Pallmann oil is touch-dry in 30 minutes after application & accepts light foot traffic in 4 HOURS. If you want a finish that enables you to access some of the crucial areas (the fridge, the keys you left on that shelf, or the bathroom) within 4 hrs of application. In that case, this wood finish will enable it.
Not all sorts of hardened oils let you do that. But what’s still surprising is that Pallmann Oil reaches complete cure in 12 hrs & 24 hrs for the colors.
Two coats are always better than one. Two hardened coats give perfection & that is why Pallmann Magic Oil is tough, scrappy & able to handle heavy foot traffic & chemicals & solvents.
These two contrasting coats can surely be applied on the very same day, one right after the other, so most hardwood finishing jobs can be completed on the same day.
Pallmann calls it their “two-tone” effect. Because this Magic Oil is a two-coat system. If you wait at least 12 hrs between the two coats, you get dramatic, cumulative artistic effects. A coat of color black on day 1 followed by another coat of white on day 2 is intense & theatrical. You must water pop the wood before the first coat to get this to work.
